Nos últimos cinco anos esteve envolvido em projetos de convergência, inovação e conteúdo para clientes como Danone, Unilever, Nokia, Bradesco, Vivo, Banco Real e Volkswagen.
Mauricio foi o primeiro latino-americano a participar e palestrar no projeto do MIT (Massachussets Institute of Technology) sobre o futuro do entretenimento. Foi o jurado latino-americano no Festival of Media em Valencia (Espanha) e faz parte do board mundial do Medici Institute, de fomento à inovação nascido em estudo sobre o Renascimento desenvolvido em Harvard.
Iniciou sua carreira como empreendedor aos 15 anos de idade, quando desenvolveu com a escritora Sonia Rodrigues uma plataforma de criar histórias em formato de jogo e software. Presente em mais de 4000 escolas, foi licenciado 8 vezes e utilizada como ferramenta de facilitação para inovação e criatividade por empresas e instituições como ONU, Krakt, Petrobras, IG e Oi.

Maurício Mota is Chief Storytelling Officer and Founder at The Alchemists, a Transmedia Storytelling Development and Production company. Before founding The Alchemists he was involved with branded entertainment and advertising companies where he worked for clients such as Danone, Unilever, Nokia and other important local brands in Brazil.
Maurício started his career as an entrepreneur at age 15, when he developed Autoria, the first Storytelling Game in Latin America, based on a PhD thesis about Roleplaying Games in Brazil. He launched the game through his first company, Autoria C, and in two years it was applied in over 4,000 schools, sold in stores all over the country and being used as an innovation and creativity tool by companies and institutions including the United Nations, Kraft Foods and local companies such as TV networks, studios, carriers and internet portals.
Maurício founded The Alchemists project with the main objective of inciting a shift in the content and storytelling landscape applying the concepts found in Jenkins’ Convergence Culture, for brands and networks. Working with him on the initiative are Mark Warshaw (former Heroes and Smallville Transmedia Director), David Charles (awarded copywriter based in San Francisco) and Faris Yakob, former Digital Ninja at Naked. The Alchemists initiative takes form in a blog, workshops, consultancies, transmedia productions and an IPTV show about the theme. The Alchemists are also involved with the Convergence Culture Consortium (C3), at the MIT. Maurício was responsible for bringing to C3 the the first sponsors companies outside the US.
